MacIntyre Academies

Two New Schools Joining Our Trust

Yesterday, we had the privilege of hosting David Johnston OBE MP, Minister for Children, Families and Wellbeing, at MacIntyre’s Quest Academy in Rugby.

During his visit, the Minister joined one of the Food Tech classes where he had the opportunity to meet our students. He also had productive meetings with the Principal and several colleagues. Later, he made an important announcement to the press regarding the allocation of the SEND Wave 3 Schools.

We are thrilled to share that MacIntyre Academies has successfully secured the establishment of two new special schools. These schools will be developed in partnership with the local authorities of Leicestershire and Worcestershire, and are scheduled to open in Quorn and Malvern respectively in September 2027.

Andrew Moran, Interim Head of MacIntyre Academies, expressed his excitement, stating,

"We are delighted to have been awarded two new schools through this allocation. With our existing four successful academies, we eagerly anticipate the addition of these two new schools to the MacIntyre Academies family."

Sarah Burslem, CEO at MacIntyre, reflected on our journey, saying,

"In 2012 MacIntyre seized the opportunity to expand its contribution to the lives of young people, and further influence the education sector by establishing and sponsoring a Multi-Academy Trust. We are delighted that the Trust continues to go from strength to strength which is a testament to the commitment of all our teams."

Here at MacIntyre Academies, our vision is to empower all young people to have confidence in their potential, preparing them for adult lives and fostering strong connections within their communities. Adding two new schools will help us make a real difference in the lives of young people and their families.
